Silas Mkumbu reports from Tanzania

May 4 2008

Back home in East Africa after his visit to the UK with James Colton, Silas sends the following report...

'Greetings in Jesus' name. I am fine and my family greet you. We are happy in what God is doing. The church is going on well and is growing. Recenty they concluded the morning service with a presentation to Pastor James - who had been invited to speak and lead taking holy communion, and to myself. They thanked God for blessing our trip to England and bringing us safely back. Also for what I was able to bring back and buy for the church - bass guitar, keyboard and speaker. Church was very happy with me. They gave us presents of bed sheets and pillow cases which were embroidered.

Recently we knew God's help as the church elder's married son fell from a roof 4 stories high while at work. He died next day in hospital. His wife is also member of my church, though he was not a believer. They had a ten day old baby! God enabled me to minister to the family and do the funeral. It was my first funeral but pastor James talked with me and was a big help. God helped me and all went well. Thank you for praying for me.

We are doing a project to help the widows in my church, we have been able to start a small shop for them to run thanks to gift from a church in UK while I was visiting. They are grateful and greatly encouraged to see and receive God's help like this.'
