Generating finance through self-help initiatives

May 30 2008

'We thank SICM and our supporters for standing with us and supporting the work of the gospel and projects in Uganda. With the recent support we received from you it has enabled us to establish a pharmacy in Opure trading centre with a qualified medical nurse being in charge of the project. We are now selling drugs and providing medical treatment to the local communities. The project has a good stock of drugs and medicines and will generate money on daily basis for the funding of missions work in the country. There is much work and opportunity but finances is a problem and that is why we decided to set up a drug shop to enable us generate income and keep us moving forward with the work of missions.

Our focus now is to establish more income generating projects and that is the only alternative that will sustain the ministry of the gospel in Uganda - the more we establish income generating projects for the general work of the ministry the more we become effective and sustainable. For example, recent projects are now benefiting communities and making them self-sufficient and that's sort of thing we would like to do as far as missions work is concerned as we don't want to make SICM feel pressured but treat any support that comes as a bonus.

Pray with us for the provision so that we can launch  a cereal grinding mill in Adipala centre. Should we manage to establish four income generating projects for the funding of missions work in Uganda then we will have no problem with finances again because we will be sustainable and and will accomplish all the work we want to do for the Lord.'
