July 28 2008 Working with Levi Elonga on the ground in Uganda, we recently launched a pharmacy project. Below is a report from Levi himself. 'The pharmacy project is located in Opure trading centre, one of the populated villages in Soroti district with over 18,000 people but without any health facilities in the area. The launching of the pharmacy project in this area has come at the right time of need and it is the only project that is currently providing medical services to people. It operates from a rented house and we have employed a qualified born again medical nurse by name of Roseline Asayo, who is incharge of selling drugs and providing treatment to patients. It is a
busy centre with good services and people from other regions in Uganda
come for medical services. The project generates money on daily basis
and has atracted communities and greatly improving the health of people.
Our vision is to expand this project into a medical health centre
with a Christian set up. Pray for our ongoing plans to register the
project with the ministry of health. We would also request SICM to
send us missionaries with medical abilities to come and work with
us in this project. We will keep updating you on the progress of the
pharmacy from time to time so keep upholding us in your prayers as
we want this project to bear much fruit.' Spirit led and organisationally driven |
