Levi Elonga reports from the mission field of Uganda

August 10 2008

'We have been having a load of work over the last two weeks, from project implementation to Sunday ministry in various churches that invited us to minister to their congregations. Ketty and myself have been the key guest speakers invited and each church we went to had a good programme organized with preaching and teaching engagements throughout the day. Last Sunday we ministered in two village churches and Ketty was in Anyalai church while I was sent to Okulonyo Pentecostal church.

Ketty ministered in two services both morning and afternoon and the hand of the Lord really was with her as many encouraging things happened. She led 12 people to christ and a majority with various problems were prayed for and they received healing, released from the guilt of sin and the power of God set them fre. Okulonyo church where I was sent proved very different, as God's power manifested. I had a tight programme and timetable with no chance for lunch, instead I had it late in the evening after a great time of ministry of the word and praying for individuals with special cases. God favoured the ministry and I saw 23 souls coming to the Lord with tears flowing on their faces as the Spirit of God convicted them of their sins.

The pastor of the church, Joseph Aunyu, testified how he felt and experienced the flow of God's Spirit among the congregation while I was preaching. It was a turning point service and the church was lifted up into a deeper relationship with God. Pastor Joseph Aunyu together with his church conducted a special send off prayer for me after ministry and asked me to go back again and the same with Ketty in Anyalai Church. We left them wanting more, and praying for us and the work of the gospel that God has called us to do.

Many thanks to SICM and our dear supporters for your prayers and finances and we are grateful to be your mouths and legs on the mission field. Keep us in your prayers as we have lots of ministry invitations for Sundays and a schedule involving other mission trips around the nation of Uganda. Opportunities of work are great and we have a task to accomplish and believe that the pharmacy and cereal grinding mill projects that you have helped us to establish in Uganda will be the life blood of our work in the country. We look forward to having two similar projects launched so that the problem of finances is sorted out as these projects will be generating money on a regular basis and keep us self supporting.'
