Position: Admin support
Work involved: Writing (on computer) a thank-you letter to individuals and churches that have made a donation through SICM. The letter will then be printed, stamped and despatched. We're looking at people committing to 1 hour per week.
Requirements: You will need your own computer and printer. You'll also need to be able to produce a letter working on your own initiative (although we will give guidelines as to general content). Grammar and spelling will need to be suitable as well. Athough we appreciate the willingness of volunteers very much, there still needs to be a high standard of presentation. And even though spellcheckers are useful, the sort of use that we're looking for with one is to correct a typo rather than as a grammatical or spelling aid.
General information: You will be a very valuable part of the team here at SICM. We're looking for people based in the UK, but not necessarily within our immediate area as there is no need for direct or regular face-to-face contact. We will ask you to submit a sample of a letter prior to acceptance, so that we're happy with the standard. (We're not intending to sound harsh there, but it's so important that in direct contact with supporters we get it right).
Organisation: We will cover stamps and paper etc. We'll get the receipts to you and indicate what general things need to be said, although in time you will be able to do that anyway from your gained knowledge of the workings of SICM.
