how it started Christian Wolves began life as a seed in Stewart Bloor's heart about 2005! As a committed Christian and also a season ticket holder at Molineux, Stewart saw potential to harness the two together. But apart from the name coming into existence and the club being registered on the Wolves official site, nothing really developed beyond a few basic things. And that's very often how it is with stuff that we do for God. We have to wait for the right season (pardon the pun!), and so with the 2009/2010 campaign about to kick off, it's time to take Christian Wolves to the next level! football and faith? Many people in church life consider football and faith to be totally incompatible. But as you've gathered, we don't. And hopefully you feel that way too. In fact a good many clubs - including Wolverhampton Wanderers - started out as church-based teams. So in one way it could be said that we're going back to our roots and discovering our heritage! Christian Wolves isn't about standing outside the South Bank with a Bible preaching at the away fans (although it may be a pleasant surprise to the usual 'welcome' they get!) but rather it's about bringing together those who believe in Bully, Billy Wright and God. But not necessarily in that order of course! how do i join? The great news is that there is no joining fee, no collection plate being passed, no subscription reminders, nothing at all! The thinking behind Christian Wolves is an informal, no structure club that brings people together that have a common bonding through football and faith. All you need to do is contact Stewart Bloor and once your profile is on-line, you're in! You can check out who is on board via the 'members' link on the home page. connecting together Stewart considers himself extremely blessed that he can leave his home at 2.20pm and still be in his seat before the game kicks off at 3.00pm. But not everyone is in that position and with fans around the world, the reality is that some may never even set foot in England, never mind Molineux. And that's the beauty of the internet, whether we live in Sedgley or Sydney, Bilston or Belfast, we can communicate together via the web. And to enable that, we've set up a facebook page and also a discussion board, both of which can be accessed via the home page. sign him up, sign him up, sign him up So whether you are a die-hard season ticket holder or an occasional fan, we'd love to have you on board with us. There's no contract to sign, no small print to read, no need for an agent, and so as the Nike advert says, just do it! Stewart Bloor |
