School writes to James Colton
August 6 2007 The children in the Sunday School at Tipton Family Church have just written a batch of letters to send to James Colton in Tanzania. This is the second time that they have done this with the idea being the brainchild of Debby Bloor, who runs the children's work at TFC and also heads up the accounts at SICM. James is well-known to the people at the church, having spoken there a number of times over the years. He also took the time to write back to each of the children individually after the initial letters were sent out, which they really appreciated. If you're one of the churches that knows James and his work in Africa, then perhaps consider doing a similar project with your own Sunday School. James certainly likes to receive letters, and whether they be from adults or sent from the junior departments of the church, it's always nice to hear from home when you're out there on the mission field. It's also a great way of introducing younger children to the world of missions. If you decide to do something along these lines, then let us know so that we can include it in the latest news on the site.
