James Colton's home

August 22 2007

We received news today from James Colton concerning the ongoing building of his home, and it is good news that we report. In fact, we will let James tell you in his own words...'Things are definitely happening, and let me say 'Thank you Lord'. The living room and dining room are being painted and floor tiles are being laid; the doors have been fitted and the bedrooms have the undercoat on. There are now two men digging the necessary pits for the waste from the toilet and water from the showers. I will now be buying tiles for the toilets and bathrooms and then we need to look at fencing around the home for protection and safety - of our hens and ducks! I have also just heard that if we pay then they are ready to connect water to the house. So all is going well, better than I could have originally have hoped'

In addition, on the home front, James has been able to purchase a small piece of adjacent land to the building. This means that he has extra privacy, not to mention that his greatest fear was someone starting a pig farm underneath his window! The acquisition of the land in general is very timely, as there is talk of transferring the national airport and national/international bus station from Dar-es-Salaam to Kibaha. If that does happen then the price of land will go sky high.
