The gospel changes individual lives in Uganda

December 2 2007

Very often when we report on the work in Africa, we use figures such as 'Two thousand got saved' or 'Five thousand attended the meetings'. And while that is wonderful, we must never forget that behind the collective numbers are lots of individual people whose lives have been touched by the gospel. To highlight the point that we are making, Levi Elonga and his wife Ketty recently visited the town of Mukono for a day's ministry at one of the Pentecostal churches.

The people that responded included a notorious prostitute in the area and a witchdoctor. Both were well known, but when they heard the good news of Jesus Christ they responded by surrendering their hearts and lives to Him. The witchdoctor returned with a large bag of witchcraft items which were burnt in public. Both are now in the church and making good progress. Levi reports that on the day they got saved, 'We saw the power of God in action and touching many lives with tears flowing down people's faces.'
