The Fruit Of The Spirit Is....Peace
Greek word
'eirene'. From the verb 'eiro' which is to fasten or join together,
denoting a harmony between individuals and God. This is an important
point because every theologically significant use of 'peace' in the
NT is rooted in one's relationship with God.
In other words, if we don't make peace with God we'll never know peace
in our own lives.
The world's definition of peace is usually an absence of conflict. By
the world's own standards, peace is rare. In the last 3500 plus years
of recorded history, only 286 have been without war (less than 10%)
and in that time 8,000 plus treaties have been broken.
