A big summer chub from the Sow

Hello and a warm welcome to my Angling Journal - and particularly so if it is your first visit. The site is updated weekly (Saturday) with an article and a video based on my recent fishing exploits. You can access these - and more - via the self-explanatory links on this page.

Following my opening night barbel on the River Sow, this week's article sums up reality - Back to earth on the Sow! However, it's not anywhere near doom and gloom as I did land a big summer chub. Typical of most at this time of the year it was very hollow but the frame suggests that it will be a very big '6' or even a low '7' at the back end of the season. Hopefully I will catch it again!

I will be back with the next update this coming weekend (July 4) so make a date and check out how I get on when I hit the local canal for eels. With the Sow in desperate need of some rain I am giving it a break and heading for the Staffs/Worcs Canal.
