Barbel on the Warwickshire Avon

This is a summer visit to Warwickshire's premier river and Steve Collett is hosted by Jamie Robbins. The river is low and clear and as the conditions are bright and sunny, it's certainly a challenge. But one that Steve is up for without doubt as he connects with a 13lb fish first cast.

Of course there's the thrill of watching the fight and the subsequent capture, but what the thinking angler wants to know is what was the approach behind the actual engagement with the fish. And on that front Steve doesn't disappoint as he goes through the detail of his rig and general line of attack.

Steve's session is spent roving in pursuit of the big fish, while Jamie opts for a static day trotting a stick float through a swim as he picks up dace and chub. This is the beauty of this programme - you get the best of both worlds.

In order to see the programme in full then you need to subscribe to OnlineFishing TV. But it's great value and with new releases on a regular basis, definitely worth considering. I watch the channel on my laptop and the quality is as good as if you were watching something on TV, both in terms of production and content.
