James and Rose New Year report

 

REPORT

After Christmas we had 3 days Prayer and Fasting (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) as a church to prepare for the New Year, meeting together at 4:30 p.m. at the church for an hour and an half. I was leading prayer for the three days. They were well attended and we believe God is going to do great things.

New Year's Eve, we met for Night Prayers from 10 p.m. to 1a.m. at church to see the New Year in and to pray for God's blessings and leading for the New Year. We began with an hour of Praise and Worship which Rose led. It was a good night of prayer.

Then on New Year's Day we met for a celebration service, again Rose was leading Praise and Worship. Then we had testimonies as everyone testified to what God had done for them in 2011. Then I brought a short word to encourage folk to keep looking to Jesus for 2012. As Joshua told the people (Joshua chapter 3) "you have not passed this way before" so keep your eyes upon Jesus. A verse that I felt God gave to encourage everyone was Psalm 118:17 "I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord." Everyone was blessed and encouraged.

After the service some of the youth as well, as family members, stayed to have lunch with us and continue the celebrations.

PRAYER

Wednesday Rose will be leading the Church Bible Study.

On Sunday I will be teaching Sunday School, looking at the fifth Commandment "Honour your Father and Mother". Then in the Morning Service I will be bringing the word as then Pastor Chipamba and I present the Vision for the Church for for 2012. (We have both been praying separately for this and last week when we came together we found that what we each received fitted together; I had the overall vision- KEY: Advance and together Pastor Chipamba and I had individual details. I will write more after Sunday's presentation).
