PERSONNEL.
There are a number of individuals that hold particular offices with SICM. Each one has a particular function, and as the individual operates effectively then so the organisation runs smoothly.
The English based team members come together once a month on a Saturday for teaching. This is an important aspect of our working together. We desire to aim for excellence in all that we do for the Lord and the teaching sessions are an invaluable way of ensuring that our knowledge and understanding of missions is forever increasing.
An e-mail group exclusive to SICM links the whole team, not just the English based members, but the overseas ones as well. This is a wonderful example of how modern technology can be used to the advantage of God's kingdom. The e-mail group means that, although many miles separate us, we are in constant communication with each other.
Stewart Bloor is the
Director of the overall work. Stewart is also part of the leadership
of Tipton Family Church, a non-denominational Church, which he planted
in 1992. Stewart works full-time for SICM.
Debby Bloor handles
the finances and accounts of SICM. Married to Stewart she also works
full-time for the ministry. Debby is also involved in the music ministry
in her home Church.
Jim Brown from County
Durham in the north of England is involved with overseas missions.
The latest team member, coming on board with his wife June at the
end of 2002, Jim has already been to Tanzania with SICM and is scheduled
for further trips into Africa this year.
June Brown as well as
her involvement with overseas missions, also does the administration
for the SOW programme, whereby we raise support for Pastors and Church
leaders in the Developing World.
Robert Chidundo is the
SICM National Representative for Tanzania. A Pastor within the Evangelistic
AOG, Robert has been linked with SICM since 1994, so it was a natural
development that he should be more formally involved with us.
James Colton is currently
on the mission field long-term in Tanzania, having gone out in February
2002 with his wife Anneli. Prior to his placement, James was the
Pastor
at Whitby AOG Church in North Yorkshire. (Since
February 2003, James and Anneli have been back in England, whilst
Anneli undergoes treatment for cancer. For updates on the situation
feel free to contact us.)
Anneli Colton is married
to James. In Tanzania, Anneli is ministering very effectively with
the children and the ladies. She is originally from Finland.
Levi Elonga is SICM's
National Representative for Uganda. He pastors a rural Church and
does a great work for the Lord. He organises all of SICM's teams that
visit Uganda.
Hal Hickman is the Pastor
of Tipton Family Church in the West Midlands and is a trustee of SICM.
Hal has particular responsibility with the overseas mission teams,
and leads a team into Africa once a year. Hal spends one day a week
at the Missions Centre.
Orlen Johnson joined
the team in the summer of 1998 as a leader for the UK Missions Teams,
having been on a number of teams over the last few years. He works
for the local authority in Sandwell, and is a Youth Pastor in his
local Church.
Osmond Owusu is the
SICM National Representative for Ghana. He organises the local programme
for the couple of teams a year that visit that nation.
Carol Ricketts together
with her husband Martyn, heads up the Missionary Support Team. The
role of the team is to provide back up for the long-term missionaries
whilst out on the field.
Martyn Ricketts as described
above, works with his wife Carol in the support of long-term missionaries.
Martyn is is part of the eldership at Vale of Evesham Christian Centre
in Worcestershire.
Sharon Simmons has been
working with SICM since the summer of 1998 as Office Support. From
November 1998, Sharon has been working full-time with the ministry.
Rosemary Whitehouse,
as well as being one of the trustees, helps out with her husband Tom
one day a week at the Missions centre. Rosemary does the very practical
and necessary job of ensuring the place is kept clean and tidy. In
effect she is our 'housekeeper'.
Tom Whitehouse is the
one we turn to when something practical needs doing at the Missions
Centre. Tom's role involves everything from putting handles on doors
to assembling shelf systems. Tom and Rosemary are members of The Straits
Church in Lower Gornal, which is FIEC affiliated.
ACCOUNTABILITY AND CREDIBILITY.
SICM is registered with the British Government as a Charity. Not only
does this enable us to claim back tax on certain gifts but it also
gives credibility. This is important to us, particularly with so many
'free spirits' around in Christendom today. As a Charity we have four
trustees. In addition we also have a board of reference of ministers
who are all in front-line ministry, each one of them having a heart
for missions and evangelism. Our accounts are prepared each year by
an independent accountant. All of these things help us in our desire
to be totally above board in all that we do. Every penny that has
come into the ministry has been accounted for. All finance that we
receive is acknowledged and receipted and goes to the purpose for
which it was designated. Our accounts are available for anyone to
see. The income has grown considerably each year that SICM has been
in operation. In fact, one of the reasons why many individuals and
Churches have supported the work is because they know our desire to
operate with total integrity in all that we do.
BOARD OF REFERENCE.
The board are not involved directly in the running of SICM but each
one of them has been happy to put their name to what we do, again
giving credibility. Each one is there so that in times of guidance
or advice we know that we can call upon their experience.
John Addison is the pastor of
Bethany AOG Church in Warrington, Cheshire. Also has an interest in
Romania, having been there 20 + times.
Doru Cirdei originally from Romania,
is now the Pastor of Filadelphia Church in Chisinau, Moldova. Doru
is also the General Secretary of the Pentecostal Union of Moldova.
Geoff Malan is the Principal of
Africa School of Missions in South Africa and is also involved with
Asian Outreach.
Bob Searle is the General Secretary
of International Gospel Outreach, a Fellowship of ministers based
in North Wales.
Tony Stone is an evangelist based
in Stourbridge, West Midlands. Tony is well known in the UK and has
travelled to many parts of the world with the Gospel. |
