David and Elspeth Masson
December 2000
David and Elspeth left their native Scotland on October 30 bound
for Ghana. Unfortunately their day of travel coincided with extreme
weather conditions here in the UK and they were delayed in London
– but did reach Ghana eventually. We had a call from a stranded
David at Gatwick, but we were able to let the Ghanaians know, so
all was in hand.

The
Massons are actually the first missionaries that SICM has placed long-term
on the field, so they are pioneers or guinea pigs, whichever way you
want to look at it…..Seriously, we feel privileged that God has caused
our paths to cross as the placing of long-term workers on the mission
field is a fulfilment of the vision that God has given us at SICM.
They are based with Word Alive Ministries, working in the Western
Region of Ghana. Word Alive is a very progressive organisation involved
in Church planting, practical help, the running of a school and a
Bible College, amongst other things. David is teaching in the Bible
College and Elspeth is teaching at the School, although, as with the
nature of missions work, they’re helping out in other areas as well.
An update on the Massons will appear on the SICM website regularly.
If you would like to receive the paper copy of their update, let
us know, and we will add you to the mailing list. |
Prayer Points For The Massons
* Work permit to be extended when it is to be renewed (They were given
60 days on landing)
* Elspeth sprained her ankle, she is now recovering
* God’s anointing on their ministry
* Praise the Lord for good health so far. Pray for that to continue
