Jane Wilby
December 2000
Jane left the not so sunny shores of England on November 6. Her
ultimate destination was the nation of Uganda, where she is going
to be based for the next 12 months .
Jane is actually the third missionary that SICM has placed long-term
on the field, our first missionaries were David
and Elspeth Masson, who are working in Ghana. They ’beat’
Jane to the mission field by 7 days !!!
We feel privileged that God has caused our paths to cross, as the
placing of long-term workers on the mission field is a fulfilment
of the vision that God has given us at SICM.

She
will be based with Pastor Levi Elonga, an ordained Pentecostal Minister,
of Life Concern Ministries, working in the district of Soroti, Uganda.
Life Concern Ministries is a progressive organisation involved in
church meetings, crusades etc. As well as the spiritual side of the
ministry, they also have a number of projects such as agricultural
development, rehabilitation of widows and orphans, adult literacy
etc. Jane will be involved with health programmes, women's ministry
and evangelistic missions. She will also be working with Bishop Charles
Obaikol from the Anglican Church. As SICM is an inter-denominational
organisation we are not limited by denominational restrictions, but
can work freely across the Body of Christ.
An update on Jane will appear on the SICM website regularly. If you
would like to receive the paper copy of her update, let
us know, and we will add you to the mailing list. |
