Guidelines
for all team members.
For
a mission to be successful there needs to be guidelines of which
we are all aware. Remember that as a member of a team you are
an ambassador for the Kingdom of God. If each member of the team
follows the guidelines below, the mission will go smoothly and
an adherence will avoid any embarrassing moments later on. It
may seem that the following are legalistic rules but they are
not! They are practicial points that have arisen and experience
has shown that is it better to deal with things before they arise.
Although reasons have not been listed below, justifications will
be given to anyone that wishes to know why the following guidelines
have been included.
-
Smoking
is not allowed at any time during a mission.
- The drinking
of alcohol is not allowed at any time during a mission.
- A dress code
will be operated. Please dress smartly for meetings. Please do
not wear jeans for meetings, although they are generally acceptable
for street evangelism. For girls: please do not wear very short
skirts during the missions, or revealing clothes of any kind.
Modesty is the keyword!
Only girls are to wear earrings and then only in the ears! Please,
no earrings in males and no body piercing. Certain missions may
allow a more liberal dresscode - please check with the leader.
- It is important
that all team members are in submission to the team leader.
- Any problems
that arise between team members must be reported immediatley to
the team leader. Likewise, any problems that arise of any nature
during the mission must also be reported.
- No counselling
to be carried out by team members, except with the agreement and
knowledge of the team leader.
- No dating
allowed during the duration of the mission. For those already
dating before coming on the mission, sensitivity is required.
- Under no
circumstances will anyone be allowed into the rooms or sleeping
quarters of the opposite sex.
- All team
members will be expected to attend the full programme of the mission
- i.e. morning devotions, Church meetings etc.
- Bad language
and coarse talk is not allowed during the mission.
- Other specific
rules relating to each particular mission may apply. Remember,
rules are for the well-being of each team member and to ensure
that the Christian witness of the team is not diluted.
Application
to join the mission assumes that the previous guidelines will be
adhered to by individuals. The team leader reserves the right to
send home anyone that he considers to be in blatant disregard of
any of the mission rules. Anyone asked to leave mission will do
so at their own expense.
