missions and evangelism - page 2
Martin Goldsmith
- Don't just stand there... (bc1-626)
Jesus Christ worshipped as Lord and Saviour by people from every nation. That vision is the goal and inspiration of mission. To this he adds much sound, practical advice on spreading the Good News to all the world. Fair condition. 128 pages. Published by Inter-Varsity Press 1979. £1.25. p&p £1.20. Don Posterski - Why am I afraid to tell you I'm a Christian? (bc1-493) Telling others about your faith can be embarrassing. J. Oswald Sanders - The Divine Art of Soul-Winning (bc1-477) While soul-winning is a God-given gift, it is also an art which must be cultivated. And since every Christian has the personal responsibility of endeavoring to win souls for Christ, this divine art must be individually acquired and perfected. The author presents this important subject in a concise, straightforward way, drawn from innumerable sources and especially designed for young people. Fair condition; the pages and inside of the covers have all yellowed. The front and back covers are quite worn. The condition of the book is reflected in the price. 128 pages, published by Moody Press. No date, but a very old book. £0.99. p&p £1.00. Buy multiple items and get big discounts |

Chuck Lowe - Territorial Spirits and World Evangelisation? (bc1-298) Over the last decade, a new theory and practice of spiritual warfare has taken hold around the world. This teaching proposes the existence of a newly-discovered class of demons, 'territorial spirits', whose function is to rule over specific jurisdictions of different sizes. Along with this theory has come a new practice of spiritual warfare: ruling demons are named, their territories identified, and they are then bound or cursed. Evangelism and mission are then said to proceed rapidly with dramatic results. Good condition; on the front cover there is slight creasing. 189 pages, published by Mentor / OMF 1998. £1.50. p&p £1.43. Buy multiple items and get big discounts |

John and Sue Ritter - Keep in Step (bc1-434) Society moves on. Kids (that's the bigger ones, also known as 'teenagers') often lead the way - always moving, asking questions, looking for something. If the world is moving, then Christians can't stand still. We have to be there when the questions are asked, when the hurts are felt and the fears revealed. Not at arm's length, but in there with them. Not looking the same, but offering light in the dark. Keeping in step with the people who don't yet know Christ as we do, ready to share him when the time is right. Reasonable condition. 125 pages, published by Kingsway 1987. £0.50. p&p £1.00. A. J. Broomhall - Time for Action (bc1-031) This book is a powerful call to action to bring the gospel of Christ to the fast-changing world of today. It portrays the need of the millions, the hunger of the individual. It gets to grips with the urgency and vital nature of the message. It looks at what the church has already done, and what is yet to be done. It demands a response from the individual, and shows how this can be worked out in practical ways. It is a book which not only must be read but demands to be acted on. Fair condition. 152 pages, published by Inter-Varsity Fellowship, reprinted 1966. £0.75. p&p £1.20. E. Stanley Jones - The Christ of the Indian Road (bc1-037) To those familiar with India the title of this book may lead the reader to expect the book to be what it is not - an Indian interpretation of Christ. It is, rather, an attempt to describe how Christ is becoming naturalised upon the Indian Road. The Indian interpretation of Christ must be left to later hands. To those who have no first-hand familiarity with conditions in India another word of caution may be given. The author has tried to be scrupulously careful not to overdraw the picture. He has let non-Christians themselves largely tell the story of the silent revolution in thought that is talking place in India. Christian missions have come to a crisis in India. A new and challenging situation confronts us. If we are to meet it, we must boldly follow the Christ into what are, to us, untried paths. In any case Christian missions are but in their beginnings in India. Hardback. Fair condition. Due to the age of the book the edges of the pages are marked. Also the back cover is slightly marked. 254 pages, published by Hodder and Stoughton. Copyright 1925. £0.60. p&p £2.12. Buy multiple items and get big discounts |
